RoboDog Privacy Policy
RoboDog is a companion app for controlling quadruped robot dogs (such as the FX Aegis series). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.
1. What We Collect
We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. The app operates entirely on your device and communicates directly with your robot dog over your local Wi-Fi network.
The following data is used locally on your device only:
- Wi-Fi SSID (network name): Used to detect whether you are connected to your robot's hotspot and to offer one-tap connect. We never transmit this information off your device.
- Known Dogs list: When you connect to a robot, we save a nickname and the SSID in your device's local storage (iOS SharedPreferences / Android SharedPreferences) so you can reconnect later. You can delete this list any
time from the app.
- Photos and screen recordings: When you explicitly tap the camera or recording button, the captured media is saved to your device's Photos library. We do not upload this media anywhere.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- No account registration, no email, no phone number
- No analytics or tracking (no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no advertising SDKs)
- No location data beyond the iOS system requirement for reading the current Wi-Fi SSID (iOS 13+ requires Location permission only to return the SSID; we do not use GPS coordinates)
- No contacts, calendar, microphone, or other sensitive data
3. Network Communication
The app communicates directly with your robot dog over your local network using UDP and HTTP. Traffic never leaves your LAN unless you choose to expose your robot through your own gateway.
4. Third-Party Services
The app does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or backend services. It does not load remote code or configuration.
5. Children's Privacy
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
