Quick Start

  1. Power on your robot dog and wait for its Wi-Fi hotspot to appear (SSID starts with XG0...)
  2. Open RoboDog on your iPhone
  3. On the landing page, tap Connect to Dog Wi-Fi — the app will auto-join your robot's hotspot
  4. Once connected, the terminal-style console will show live telemetry (SN, model, temperature, battery)
  5. Tap ENTER to open the control panel (landscape mode). Use the joysticks to move, the action buttons to trigger gaits, and the camera / record buttons to capture media.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The app can't find my robot's Wi-Fi.

A: Make sure the robot is powered on and its Wi-Fi LED is steady. On iOS, go to Settings → RoboDog → Location and set to "While Using the App" — iOS requires Location permission to read the current Wi-Fi SSID. This does not use GPS.

Q: The connection drops frequently.

A: Keep within 10 meters of the robot. Walls and microwaves on 2.4 GHz can interfere. Check the latency chip at the bottom of the control panel — green is good, red means weak signal.

Q: Can I control the robot without being on its hotspot?

A: Yes, if your robot is joined to your home Wi-Fi, the app will auto-discover it via UDP multicast. Use the Change Dog Wi-Fi function in the Info page to configure.

Q: Photos and recordings don't save to my album.

A: Go to Settings → RoboDog → Photos and grant "Add Photos Only" or "Full Access".

Q: Can I use this app with a different quadruped robot?

A: RoboDog is designed for the FX Aegis series (D1 / XG01 / XG03). Other robots are not supported.
